Buying and Selling

How to deal shares, funds and other investments

Once you've opened an ISA, buying or selling shares, funds and other investments is easy. You can deal by giving us instructions in a variety of ways:

• Online through your account
• Telephone our Dealing team (we don't charge extra for dealing by phone)
• Fax
• Email
• Post
• In person at our offices in Aylesbury

Dealing times – when can I deal?

The London Stock Market is open for trading between 08:00 and 16:30, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

Real-time dealing

When the stock market is open, your instructions for dealing shares, Investment Trusts and ETFs will usually be processed immediately. Instructions given outside these hours will be carried out from 08:00 the following trading day.

Unit Trusts and OEICs

Instructions to deal Unit Trusts and OEICS placed by 10:00 are processed the same day. Orders received after 10:00 are carried out the following trading day.

Gilts

You can trade Gilts between 08:00 and 16:30, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Please call our Dealing team to trade Gilts, you cannot trade Gilts online.
