Corporate actions

Corporate actions and you

A corporate action is any issue which affects a company's share capital. These include takeovers, mergers, rights issues and open offers. With an ISA you will be automatically advised of any corporate actions for companies in which you hold shares with The Share Centre by post for no extra charge. This allows you to make informed investment decisions where necessary.

Keeping you informed about changes

Some corporate actions, such as name changes, share splits and share consolidations will not need you to make a decision, but we will advise you of any changes so you can keep up to date with your share holdings.

Where you are required to make a decision, our dedicated Corporate Actions team will write to you with the details of the corporate action, setting out the options available to you and the action that you need to take. Remember, if you'd like expert advice about a corporate action, you can telephone our Advice team.

Company reports and accounts

If you wish to receive these, you can sign up for our Shareholder rights service either through My profile or by emailing us, and we will arrange for these to be sent directly to you by the company registrar.
